Project Description
In this design course an energetically poor performing 60’s residential building block had to be transformed into a multifunctional building, with new functions and a zero energy performance (including material related energy/carbon and user related energy compensation). The emphasis of the assignment lied on a fully integrated climate concept that is also validated and quantified on its energy performance.
The casus for this assignment was a student housing complex located east of Delft; Oudraadtweg 1-39. This is a building complex with 4 large buildings with 5 layers each, with 4 double layer small apartments next to them. The 3 stepped strategy Reduce, Re-use and Produce has been implemented in order to tackle this casus. Next to that issues in regards to dwelling, building block level and neighbourhood are also tackled.
My task over the course of this project was designing the urban plan, ventilation principle, heating system, PV panels, insulation improvements, context analysis, current building analysis, renders, assisting in the calculation of the new energy situation and making the Revit model (including floor plans and drawings),
